FIN Telecom was formed in 2005 by Kevin Sumsion (Technical Director). Shortly after which he was joined by two additional company directors John Johnstone (Finance Director) and Seamus Hackett (Business Director).
Seamus was a founder owner of Instalcom Limited, a company which made a great impression on the construction of the UK’s telecommunications networks over the last fifteen years.
Seamus has worked alongside the majority of global operators that had a
presence in the UK, installing many of the conventional network infrastructures that are in place today.
He had the foresight to try and change the way city to city networks were built in the UK. By investing heavily in the development and subsequent acquisition of fibre blowing equipment, becoming

the first contractor in the country to offer long haul trunk cable installations, significantly increasing the continuous distances of no break cable networks.
Constructing fibre trunk networks across the breadth of Great Britain. He installed fibre along the PAN-EUROPEAN routes across France through to the German border and circum-navigating Scandinavia with a 2000 kilometre fibre installation, splice and test.
John Johnstone brings the benefit of his financial skills to the company as its Financial Director having been Instalcom’s accountant for twelve years. John has first hand knowledge of the financial complexities of this industry.
His experience provides direction to the company in the way that it is managed and controlled to enable sustainable growth which creates a solid financial platform from which to work from.
In the case of Kevin Sumsion the technical skills he has introduced to FIN Telecom forms the basis of our reputation for technical excellence. Kevin spent over ten years with Instalcom as their chief fibre engineer before venturing out as a consultant to the industry.
FIN Telecom has created a management team which was moulded around the skills each individual director would be able to bring to the company.

A great deal of investment has gone in to ensuring that FIN Telecom engineers have the latest fibre technology available at their disposal.
Equipment trends are closely monitored on a regular basis to keep pace with this technology led industry. Our fleet of new vehicles include vans which remain unmarked and logo free. Each vehicle is fully fitted out to enable a clinical workshop environment in which the cables are spliced and tested.
